Solutions for Protective Ventilation
Our mission is the development and introduction of new enabling devices for advanced protective ventilation. Mechanical ventilation has helped create the discipline of critical care and improve outcomes.
Recent clinical data have demonstrated that mechanical ventilation is a double edged sword, because it can create pulmonary (VALI) and remote organ injury. This affects mortality, morbidity and quality of life. Consecutively, protective ventilation has been studied in a number of landmark clinical trials including ARDSnet showing an outcome benefit by reducing mechanical ventilation. However, in clinical reality protective ventilation has not been established as the standard of care it should be.
Novalung´s technologies open the door to advanced protective strategies by creating a paradigm shift from pulmonary gas exchange to lung and remote organ protection while the iLA membrane ventilator breathes outside the human lung. We invite you to a journey to the future of Critical Care.
