The NovaPort® vascular access was developed specifically for the femoral application of the iLA Membrane Ventilator®. NovaPort® cannulas are characterized by extremely low flow resistance. The unique high-flex design minimizes kinking while maintaining a high degree of flexibility. This enables virtually unrestricted use of familiar therapeutic measures such as positioning therapy.

 

NovaPort Clinical Routine and modern technology combined for safety

NovaPort® cannulas are placed percutaneously using Seldinger technique. The integrated single-step dilator minimizes stress to the vessel walls. The heparin coating provides a high level of biocompatibility. The specially designed Novalung Safety Connector™ ensures safe and simple handling when connecting the NovaPort® cannulas to the iLA Membrane Ventilator®.

Effective treatment with the right cannula

The choice of NovaPort® cannula depends on the internal diameter of the femoral artery. Based on current clinical experience the following combinations are recommended for an effective iLA Membrane Ventilator® therapy:

The NovaPort® Vascular Access consists of a cannula with integrated single-step dilator, venipuncture needle, guidewire, clamp and scalpel.
